Simakade, the connection between all living thingsAbout Simakade
WHO WE ARE
Simakade was founded in 2024 by three friends who shared a passion for travel, African safaris, conservation, and technology, and a dream to create a platform that puts money back into Africa by combining the three.
Our purpose is simple: to make Africa’s safaris clear, inspiring, and accessible. We are not here to rush travellers into bookings. We are here to guide them through a journey, from the first spark of inspiration, through planning with clarity, to finding the lodges and operators that fit their vision.
Simakade is built in Africa, for Africa. Our platform is designed to keep value where it matters most, supporting local economies and conservation efforts directly.
We created Simakade to share Africa with the world, to continue its story, and to help you write your own. Through the power of an African safari, we want to bring people together and grow Africa in the process.
That is why we named our brand Simakade, the Zulu word for the connection between all living things.
HOW IT STARTED
Simakade began in 2024 with nothing more than a crazy idea and a shared frustration. Working in tourism, we saw how complicated and transactional the safari industry had become. Marketplaces pushed travellers to book as quickly as possible, lodges and operators used different jargon, and online information often conflicted. For travellers, this created confusion. For professionals, it made it harder to guide people through Africa with clarity.
Having grown up on safaris ourselves, we knew there had to be a better way. We aimed to create a space where people could move at their own pace, explore Africa with confidence, and feel inspired rather than overwhelmed. A place built for travellers who do not just want to see a lion, but who want to hear a lion roar.
That was the start of Simakade, a platform shaped by experience, guided by passion, and built to reconnect the safari journey with what it should be: authentic, inspiring, and deeply connected to Africa.
