Barry Greenshields

Bio

Barry Greenshields is an African safari specialist and former field guide with a background in guiding, wildlife, and safari planning. Originally from Pretoria, Barry developed his love for the bush during regular family trips to the Kruger National Park, a passion that eventually led him into a career in the safari industry.

After qualifying as a field guide, Barry worked at several lodges across South Africa, earning his FGASA Level 3 qualification and Professional Trails Guide status. Today, he designs personalised safaris throughout Africa, drawing on his experience in the field to help travellers choose destinations and experiences that suit what they're looking for.

As part of the Simakade Expert Panel, Barry reviews and verifies wildlife, destination, and safari-planning content, helping ensure the information on the platform is accurate and reflects real experiences in the field.
